Tooloulou’s Restaurant
In 2012, Tooloulou’s brought a unique blend of Cajun, Acadian, and Canadian cuisine to downtown Banff. Locally owned and operated, the restaurant features a cozy 50-seat dining room and a seasonal sidewalk patio, offering an extensive, house-made menu inspired by the rich culinary history linking Canada and Louisiana.
This connection dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries when persecuted Acadians resettled in Louisiana, helping shape the foundations of Cajun culture. Tooloulou’s honours that heritage through Chef Steve Smyth’s hearty, homestyle dishes made with natural ingredients from local suppliers.
When Tooloulou’s approached us, their website was plagued by technical issues and an inconsistent design. They wanted a fresh start. Collaborating closely with their team, we created wireframes, concepts, and a new visual identity—refining their logo, hand-lettering their tagline, and crafting typographic backgrounds. A custom photoshoot placed their vibrant dishes at the forefront, resulting in a cohesive, visually rich website that reflects Tooloulou’s bold flavours and character.
